Ps. 97:11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. 12Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
The LORD is good, and worthy to be praised. Light is such as blessings that we often take for granted. Light gives hope, light brightens the outlook of life, even the word brighten is used metaphorically. When we wake up early in the morning, and see the sun rises up on the eastern sky, that joy is indescribable. It is not a dancing shouting type of joy, but it is a kind of peaceful, tranquil, yet full of energy type of joy. The verse here simply states that light is prepared for the righteous, and gladness that connects with light is reserved for the upright in heart. No wicked person can even enjoy light; they love darkness because their work is evil, and they hate light. But for the righteous, light brings joy and gladness, it brings hope and strength, and praise be to God for giving us light, for He is light.
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice.
